By far the greatest expertise we have is in welding - in tiny formats. A laser's unique properties make it a perfect tool for welding. The laser's high power density provides a deep and narrow weld with a minimum heat-affected zone. This means adjacent areas don't risk being damaged and results in no or minimal deformities. This technique is used both in precision engineering and when welding close to heat-sensitive electronic components or glass droplets, for example on the casing clips for titanium pacemaker casings. Another example is in the membrane of pressure sensors. We mostly weld in stainless steel, titanium, low alloy steel, carbon steel etc. Almost all materials that can be welded using conventional methods can also be laser welded. Since a laser can weld very quickly, it's a popular method. Laser welding is in high demand in car manufacturing and in other mass production industries that constantly strive to shorten delivery times.
